Case Manager

Brad Kraushaar earned his Master's Degree in Counseling and Psychological Studies at St. Mary's College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His focus has been on issues of chemical health, and has implemented programming for youth and families at several youth agencies in the Twin Cities. In 1997, Brad merged his interests in chemical health with his passion for alternative education, launching one of the first alternative schools for students struggling with chemical use. The Arona Campus in Minnesota eventually became a charter school program affiliated with Sobriety High, but maintained a unique therapeutic approach celebrating the whole student and melding academics with multiple perspectives on sobriety and recovery.

Brad spent a summer in  Montana working as a family and adventure therapist at a wilderness program. After that experience, he and his wife Kirsten decided they'd had enough of city life and moved to a farm in rural Minnesota. They opened a retreat center on site, offering experiential opportunities to groups of youth from a wide variety of schools and organizations. He was also part of the think tank that created 2 Stories, a team of counselors and youth workers providing training and experiential retreats for adults and youth utilizing post-modern and narrative techniques and philosophies. In 2006, Brad and his family moved to New Hampshire, where he continued to be active in the charter school movement.

Brad has a green thumb and has grown some incredible butterfly and salsa gardens. He is an expert windsurfer and enjoys all types of athletics. He has three daughters; Zoe, 22, Mycah, 14 and Devi, 13. He has coached soccer, loves classic rock, and makes really good spaghetti sauce.
