Danny Recio started his studies in Psychology at
the Universidad Autonoma Monterey in Costa Rica,
where he earned his bachelor’s degree. Then he
went to the University of West Georgia to earn his
master's degree in Counseling Psychology. Danny
interned as a therapist at the Student Development
Center at the University of West Georgia, where he
practiced psychotherapy in the areas of academic,
career, individual and group counseling.
Danny is very interested in expanding therapy
beyond the traditional format. He enjoys
implementing art therapy, eco-therapy and other
ways to approach health as a whole to his work. He
is currently working on his PhD in Ecopsychology
with Akamai University and the Institute of Global
Education, an NGO consultant to the United Nations
Economic and Social Council. He is also a member
of the Association for Humanistic Psychology (AHP).
Danny has an extensive background of cross-
cultural experiences. He lived and did a year of high
school in Cape Town, South Africa. He also lived in
Colorado and Georgia in the United States and has
shared significant periods of his life with people
from all corners of the world. Danny is fascinated by
human’s meaning making process and our ways to
express this process.
