Lia DeLand, LCP
MS Counseling Psychology
Case Manager |
Lia is a graduate of Stanford University, and has an M.S. (Cum Laude) in Counseling Psychology. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a National Certified Counselor, and has specialized in trauma resolution, eating disorders, and somatic disorders. She has worked with a wide range of adolescents, from those incarcerated in Juvenile Hall for violent crimes to gifted singers, dancers, actors, and musicians in an arts conservatory.
Lia likes to use a holistic mind/body/spirit approach that enables adolescents to connect to their own inner strength and wisdom. In addition to meditation, breathwork, sound therapy, and art therapy, she uses IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapy to gently reveal, clarify, and transform the internal dynamics that keep us stuck in self-defeating patterns.
Utilizing an adolescent’s own spiritual questions and framework to facilitate growth is one of Lia’s special interests. She has spent most of her life in northern California, and has two sons, now in their 20’s. |
