Marcela was born and raised in San Ramón, Alajuela, where she attended bilingual schools and had the opportunity to live abroad in Switzerland and learn German at age 17. She earned her Bachelor degree in Psychology in 2007 from University of Costa Rica and fulfilled her licensure requirements in 2008, pending the completion of her dissertation.

Marcela has been a part of the NSA team since 2007, and she is very involved in the Personal Growth, Admissions, and Human Resources departments. Marcela also leads trainings on our database systems and family services, including marketing, admissions, and family workshops. Her organizational skills, risk management, and constant desire to continue improving program services make her a great asset to the NSA family.

Marcela loves traveling and experiencing new things. Continuous personal growth is a part of her nature (and life-long goals) as she is motivated to keep learning from everything and everyone. She adores her family and enjoys their frequent gatherings with good food, good pets, time at the family farm, and celebrations of traditions like salsa dancing.
