Making the Transition

Transition Program

All students will participate in the Transition Program during their last three months before graduation from NSA. The transition program is a series of transition-focused therapeutic groups as well as individualized work sessions to develop details of their transition plan. Parents will also be very involved in transition planning by participating in conference calls as well as working on their own transition plan as their son prepares to graduate.

Students will have the opportunity to apply to live in the Transition House with house parents during their last few months before graduation. This will provide students with the opportunity to practice skills such as more independent time management, technology management, weekly planning of meals and cooking, budgeting, organizing social events, and mentoring new students.
